Itโ€™s so simple you wonโ€™t believe it! Hereโ€™s a step-by-step guide to get connected and start mapping.

๐ŸŽน Setup Instructions

  1. ๐Ÿ”‘ Check your license
Make sure the MIDI Output feature is unlocked in your profile. (Tap the Blackout logo in the top right corner to confirm.)

  2. ๐ŸŽ›๏ธ Connect your controller

    • Tap Link Status

    • Select Connect Devices under MIDI Connect

    • Find your MIDI controller in the list and tap it to connect

  3. ๐ŸŽš๏ธ Assign controls with MIDI Learn

    • Tap MIDI Learn to put the console into learning mode

    • Tap a button or fader in Blackout (yellow border or background)

    • Press or move the button/fader on your MIDI controller

    • Youโ€™ll see it automatically link!

  4. โœ… Exit learning mode

    • Tap MIDI Learn again to finish

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Troubleshooting: Faders Acting Weird?

Some controllers (like the X-Touch Compact) can run in alternate modes such as Mackie Control (MC) Mode. If your faders arenโ€™t behaving correctly, you may need to switch modes.

To switch modes on the X-Touch Compact:

  • ๐Ÿ”˜ Hold down the MC button (bottom left corner)

  • โšก Turn the power switch on while holding the button

  • ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Keep holding until the MC MODE LED lights up (MC mode is now active)

  • ๐Ÿ” Repeat the process to go back to standard mode (this time the LED should be off)

The unit will remember the last mode you set, even after powering off.
